Middle School Mandarin Chinese Teacher
(beginning September 2008)
Full-time position teaching Mandarin Chinese to 5th through 8th graders in a well-established program that emphasizes all four language learning skills: speaking, reading, writing, and listening. The program includes cultural studies and prepares graduates for continuing Chinese study in high school. Position includes writing student reports, conferencing with parents, and advising a small group of middle school students in addition to routine supervisory duties. B.A. or equivalent, fluency in Mandarin, and experience teaching Chinese to English-speakers are required; experience teaching at the middle-school level is preferred.
